1. Who We Are
VenueFY is a personal, unofficial project developed by an independent JKUAT student to improve campus life. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by JKUAT or any official university body. This policy explains how we handle your data in compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
2. Data We Collect
We collect minimal data:
- Name and Registration Number (for attendance & lecture viewing)
- Attendance records
- Optional testimonials
We do NOT collect emails, phones, locations, or sensitive data.
3. How We Use Your Data
Data is used only for:
- Enabling attendance marking
- Venue booking verification
- Generating class attendance reports
- Displaying approved testimonials
All processing follows DPA principles.
4. Storage & Security
Data is encrypted and stored securely. Retention: Attendance deleted after 60 days post-session. No selling or sharing with third parties and if so the only third party is me.
5. Your Rights
Under Kenya DPA, you can:
- Access, rectify, or delete your data
- Withdraw consent
- Complain to ODPC
